End of life aircraft dismantling by Econecol Inc.
Our group company Econecol Inc. (Head Office: Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Pref.) has carried out a used aircraft dismantling operation, which in Japan is very rare. Check out the smooth operation conducted by our professional team in the movie!
The Aircraft dismantling professionalsIn recent years, aircraft reuse and recycling have been attracting a lot of attention. There are two reasons for this. The first is that the pace of aircraft updates is accelerating due to the introduction of new models with good fuel efficiency, and, secondly, the number of aircraft that are being retired from active service is increasing. There is an increasing need to recycle resources.
Last year, Econecol Inc. purchased a Japanese government aircraft “Boeing 747-400”. This became the springboard to the development of our reuse and recycle of used aircraft business, targeting sales in overseas markets.
The flow of reuse and recycling of used aircraft can be categorized into 3 categories. (1) “Reuse of an aircraft as is” (2) “Aircraft dismantlement and parts reuse” (3) “Complete aircraft dismantlement and recycle by each material”. These three options could be selected by the needs of the market, condition of the aircraft and customers’ demand.
This time we separated the nose of the plane for display purposes. The rest of the aircraft was dismantled into truck-load sizes by using heavy machinery, in order to recycle each of the aircraft’s materials at Econecol’s mega shredder plant.
We expect the aircraft re-use and recycle business, as one way to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society to increase from now on. We, at Envipro Holdings, will continue our efforts to refine and develop the reuse and recycle of aircrafts, research the technology / know-how and marketing in this field of business.
